Our last official paddle of the season was this last weekend at Lake Monore. Five HCKC paddlers set off at 10:30 Saturday Morning and paddled out to a campsite near the tip on Deam Peninsula from Cutright SRA (1.8 miles). We set up tents and unloaded our boats.
We then paddled up the North fork of Salt Creek up to the Wildlife Resting buoys above Pine Grove and then paddled back for a total of about 12 miles for the day. It was a beautiful day with often glassy water + the trees were in color.
Saturday Night, we can't on the peninsula where the weather was surprisingly warm. Robert built a great campfire using wood that Gil had gathered. A great evening.
Sunday Morning, we set off around 8:15 am and met up with Kevin at Cutright before heading down and exploring the west side of Monroe. We paddled under the bridge and south along the East Shore past the Boy Scout Camp to Allen's Creek Peninsula. By the time we headed back the wind had picked up to th 15 mph ranged and that 6-12" waves pushing us north.
