Five HCKC sea kayakers launched from the Tanner's Creek ramp near Lawrenceburg. The river was calm with light wind and 80+ weather. Pictures are at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/merlin3d/albums/72157702212824785
We immediately crossed the river and paddled up the south shore of the Ohio to the small creek about 1/2 mile upstream where the Ghost Ship was grounded in 1986. After over thirty years, there are now trees growing up in the ship. A detailed history of the ship is available at: queencitydiscovery.blogspot.com/2013/03/the-ghost-ship.html
After paddling around the ship, we headed up the Ohio under the I275 bridge and then crossed back so that we could paddle the Great Miami River.
We had lunch on an island under a RR bridge and then explored farther up the Great Miami before heading back down stream to the Ohio past the power plant to our take out at Tanner's Creek Ramp.
A great day.
