Here is a story of a drowning between Michigan and Stockton Islands in the Apostles. The weather was moderate with 1' waves and reasonable temperature. It said that the children and Father all were wearing PFDs and died of hypothermia.

The picture they show with this story on the net is a standard single person K1. How did they get 2 adults and 3 kids in that to begin with? Anyone know what they were actually paddling?
