We had four HCKC paddler out for the fall Lake Monroe paddle. All four stayed for the evening camping in Deem Wilderness on the peninsula in campsite 18.
We had really nice weather sunny with light winds and temperature range of 30's to 50's.
We paddled out from Cutright PAS over to Deem peninsula. Then we setup our tents/hammocks and had lunch. After lunch we paddled over Pine Grove PAS out and back. On the way back we saw a coyote swimming across the lake.
The fall foliage around Lake Monroe was near peak. We enjoyed beautiful sunset along with a nice camp fire and some jiffy pop.
Sunday we had a frosty start to the morning with some light fog over the lake. A great trip to close the sea kayak season.
