Join your paddling friends on the Youghiogheny River in Ohiopyle, PA July 24-27, 2025

Registration fee $20 per person.

There are lots of paddling options in the area. The Lower Yough is class 2-3 and runs consistently through the summer. The "loop" section at the put in offers 5 named rapids and you can walk your shuttle. The Middle Yough is a family friendly Class 1-2 option with mostly flat water. The Upper Yough is class 4 creeking and about an hour from the campsite. The upper will release that weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday is the annual upper Yough race and will be very busy that day. The Cheat River is about an hour away as well with Class 2 on the Narrows section and Class 4 on the Canyon. The Casselman is a good option if there is a large rain that puts other options out of range.

The club will run a trip down the Lower Yough on Saturday - put in meet at 11:00 AM.

Non-paddling opportunities in the region include Nemocolin Resort and Casino (with on site live White Buffalo!), Great Allegheny Passage Bike Trail, Frank Lloyd Wright's Kentucky Knob, and more. The section of river in downtown is roped off for swimming and is super family friendly.

Camping is at Scarlett Knob Campground in the group camping area (site 240). Your registration fee covers your camping on Friday and Saturday. We have the site reserved on Thursday and you will be responsible for your Thursday night camping fees. You can also make a reservation on your own if you don't want to camp in the thick of the fun.

Your registration fee includes the Saturday night Shrimp Boil (Vegan/Vegitarian/Pescatarian Options as well)

Note, when you read about the Lower Yougiogheny, there will be significant Beta on Dimple Rapid. There is an undercut rock that poses a significant hazard. This rapid is well marked on the river by a huge sign and there is an easy 300 foot portage trail on river right.
