MOVED TO SUNDAY, JUNE 2 DUE TO FORECAST
West Fork of the White River Paddlers:
Hurray!!!
We will be paddling tomorrow, Sunday, June 2. See you all at the Put-in @
1030 AM.
The water level is good.
Mariann.
The weather gods are playing with my head and therefore the date of this trip. I have decided in the interest of comfort and safety to postpone the trip until Sunday, June 2 at 10 30 AM (@ Edgewater park meet-up), water level permitting; all other details will be the same. There is a 50 to 100% rain prediction in the area on Saturday… heavier in sections of our paddle. This is too pretty of a paddle to be uncomfortable.
The only glitch could be if the water is too high on Sunday which can be a problem/danger. Fingers crossed.
Soooo… stay tuned for another email on Sat evening around 8pm… Weather and water data will be better assessed at that time.
If the water level is 500 cfs at this time, there will be minimal areas to beach, but a nice paddle flow. I saw one beach area about 2 hours into the paddle that could accommodate us. (Bring a plastic sheet or something to sit on as the shore may be muddy). There will be small areas, also, for single or double boats to go ashore for bio breaks along the way.
Be prepared to be on the water from 4.5 to 5 hours. Of course this is dependent on what speed the group wants to paddle.
Thanks for your patience:

This is a beautiful, forgotten section of the White River with a heavily shaded corridor of mature trees. You can sing or hum along with the sounds of the abundant water fowl or just enjoy a relaxing paddle in nature's quietude.
