Driftwood River Trip Announcement

This is a CLASSIC HCKC trip. Whether you’ve done it before or want a new adventure this is beautiful paddle down The Driftwood River near Columbus, Indiana. We begin on Sugar Creek at Furnas Mill and paddle to Lowel Bridge.

The trip is about 14 miles so be prepared with gloves, sunscreen, water and lunch.

Beginners are welcome as long as they have the endurance for a longer paddle.

The plan is to stop 1/2 way for lunch on a sandbar. Following the paddle, folks often go into downtown Columbus to a 1904 era ice cream parlor.

Meeting Time:  9 am

Meeting Location: Shell Station just off I-65 at exit 80 (first Edinburgh exit if you are coming from Indianapolis). We will caravan to Furnas Mill Dam on Sugar Creek.

Shuttle: 9:30 am ( Take cars to take out at Lowell Bridge.) On the Water: 10:30 am Register online or contact Sue Foxx at 317-363-4074 or sufoxx713@aol.com by 7 pm on Saturday, July 13 if you plan to attend or have questions. If weather or high water cause the trip to be cancelled the trip Leader will notify you with an alternate date.
