We will have 4 skills clinics this year - 3 on Saturday and 1 on a Sunday.   At each clinic, we will split the class into:

  • Introduction to Paddling - This is the ACA's introductory class for newer paddlers.  This includes an extensive discussion of safety, kayaks, and paddles and on-the-water training to learn your basic strokes and maneuvers.   A great way to jumpstart your paddling career.
  • Intermediate Skills Class - This class is targeted for more experienced paddlers who have a year of experience following an Intro class.   We can tailor this class to the wants of the students and can cover stroke refinement (tuning your current strokes), boat control/edging/turning, or forward stroke.   We will poll students in this section before each class to see what they would like us to focus on.
We can handle 15 students in each class and each instructor can teach up to 5 students.
Class registration and sign up will begin in April after we publish the training announcement in the April Newsletter and send an e-mail out to all HCKC members.
