FW/SK: Eagle Creek Full Moon Paddle

  • October 07, 2017
  • Dandy Trail Ramp, Eagle Creek Park, Indianapolis, IN

Trip Sponsor:  Jeff Stejskal

We will have a moonlight paddle at Eagle Creek on Saturday, October 7, 2017 since there is a nearly full (97%) moon on this evening. The sun will set at 7:17 pm and the moon will be rising at 8:55 PM at 75 degree's East North East. Hopefully, we'll have clear skies.

When: Saturday, October 7, 2017—Please get there around 6:45 pm so that we can be ready to launch right before sunset at 7:15 pm.

Meeting Place:  The boat ramps just north of Rick's Cafe Boatyard restaurant off of Dandy Trail.  Bring 5 dollars in cash or quarters for entry fee.  Address 4212 Dandy Trail, Indianapolis, IN 46254

What to Bring:  Kayak, Paddling Gear (Life jacket, safety equipment,). Life jackets must be worn at all time while we are on the water. Whistle on your Life Jacket. White Light since we will be paddling at night. Each boat must carry a white light such as head light or flash light. Water to drink and a snack.

Safety Procedures:  We paddle as a group with a lead and sweep boat since it is possible to get turned around in the dark.  For addition safety, we will implement a “buddy” system where everyone has at least one other boat that they paddle with.

Contact Information: If you wish to attend or have questions by 7:00 pm on Friday, October 6, please contact Jeff Stejskal at jeffs45321@hotmail.com
