DIRECTIONS

Forest Park Public Access Site, Noblesville to Mitchener Creek Takeout Northern Beach at 116th Street, Carmel. (10.7-Miles with 1.6-fpm Gradient)

Directions for the Put-in and the Takeout

The Put-in is at a public launch ramp in Noblesville's Forest Park. From SR-32/38 (aka Conner Street) in downtown Noblesville, go north on SR-19 (Cicero Rd). Watch for the entrance to the Forest Park launch ramp area on the east (right) side of the highway, about 100-yds past a railroad overpass. There is a fancy green sign that reads Foster Park. You'll find a concrete launch ramp with a circular unloading area, and a large parking lot back up by the entrance.

The White River Canoe Rental is located just 1/10th-mile south from the Put-in, just beyond the railroad overpass, on Cicero Road.

The Takeout will be at the Confluence of Mitchener Creek and White River, only a few yards away from the evening dinner and party location. The Takeout is on River-right about 300-yards downstream from Eller Bridge (116th Street). Some type of pirate marker will be placed on the Streambank to indicate the exact Takeout location. The trail up to the parking area is about 35-yds in length, with a short and easy slope near the end.

The Shuttle begins with a left turn onto SR-19 when leaving the Put-in. At the 2nd stop light turn left onto SR-32/38 (aka Connor Street). Next, turn right at 10th Street. Follow this road with no turnoffs) all the way to 116th Street. As you leave Noblesville the street name changes to Allisonville Road. Make a right turn at 116th Street. After crossing the River watch for a sign that reads NORTHERN BEACH, about 1/4-mile from the bridge (this will also marked with some form of party indicator). Turn left into Northern Beach (thru the white iron gates) and follow the road straight past a large shelter house (location of the Pirate Party). The road bends slightly to the left and passes over an old levee to a gravel parking lot near the River. Park anywhere in the area, especially to the left or rear sides. In the far left corner find a trail thru the woods to Mitchener Creek. Hike down and take a look at the Takeout and the marker.
